2 Before themountains were broughtforth, or ever thou hadstformed theearth and theworld, even fromeverlastingtoeverlasting, thou art God.
3 Thouturnestman todestruction; andsayest,Return, yechildren of men.
4 For athousandyears in thysight are butasyesterday when it ispast, and as awatch in the night.
5 Thou carriest them away as with aflood; they are as asleep: in themorning they are likegrass which groweth up.
6 In themorning itflourisheth, and growethup; in theevening it is cutdown, and withereth.
7 For we areconsumed by thineanger, and by thywrath are we troubled.
8 Thou hastset ouriniquities before thee, oursecret sins in thelight of thy countenance.
9 For all ourdays are passedaway in thywrath: wespend ouryears as a tale that is told.
10 Thedays of ouryears arethreescoreyears andten; and if by reason ofstrength they befourscoreyears, yet is theirstrengthlabour andsorrow; for it issoon cutoff, and we fly away.
11 Whoknoweth thepower of thineanger? even according to thyfear, so is thy wrath.
12 Soteach us tonumber ourdays, that we mayapply ourhearts unto wisdom.
13Return, OLORD, how long? and let itrepent thee concerning thy servants.
14 Osatisfy usearly with thymercy; that we mayrejoice and beglad all our days.
15 Make usglad according to thedays wherein thou hastafflicted us, and theyears wherein we haveseen evil.
16 Let thyworkappear unto thyservants, and thyglory unto their children.
17 And let thebeauty of theLORD ourGod be upon us: andestablish thou thework of ourhands upon us; yea, thework of ourhands establish thou it.
