Feeling at home in a gospel church can be a profoundly gratifying experience, but it may take some time to fully integrate into the culture and atmosphere. While we’ll do our best to ensure you feel welcomed and valued, there are some things that might help you adjust even better.
First, it is important to understand what your chosen church means by “gospel church”. At Summit Bible Center, when we use the term “gospel church”, it means that everything we do, every decision we make, each outreach, all gatherings and every service will be focused around actively taking the Gospel to every creature under heaven and training others how to share the Gospel effectively and with emotional intelligence. While other churches might have a different definition, here at Summit Bible Center, the Gospel is the center focus of everything we do.
Here are some steps you can take to feel more relaxed and connected in our gospel church family:
- Attend Regularly: We invite you to attend our gospel church services on a regular basis to learn about the surroundings, the people, and the flow of worship. The more you attend, the more you’ll become accustomed to our beliefs and practices.
- Engage With Our Community: Introduce yourself to members of our church and strike up conversations. Do not be afraid to ask questions regarding gospel church practices and traditions. Relationships with other worshippers can foster a sense of belonging and support within our community. Regular engagement with church members allows you to see their true heart and the faith that drives them.
- Participate in Music Services: Don’t be afraid to join in during music services. Participation is essential in gospel worship and actively engaging with the music and message can help you connect to the experience.
- Volunteer and Participate: Contribute your time and abilities to our gospel church community by volunteering for events, ministries, or outreach activities. Serving others is a great way to feel connected and help the church’s mission.
- Seek Spiritual Growth: Participate in church-sponsored spiritual development activities such as Bible studies, prayer groups, and discipleship programs. Understanding the gospel message better might help you feel more connected and purposeful in our community.
