Finding community can be challenging at times. Finding a community that also offers a sense of purpose where you can grow can feel next to impossible. Although there are many places that strive to offer both, locating that place where you and your family “just fit” can be taxing. Summit Bible Center is one such place. But if you have felt that other churches you have come across are more reliant on the traditions of man rather than the Word of God, finding community and purpose at a non-denominational church may be the answer to what you are seeking.
Non-denominational churches are Christian churches that do not hail from recognized denominations and churches such as the Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, or Methodist churches. Rather than being guided by these large organizations’ leadership and dogma, this non-denominational church is led by God’s Word and the Holy Spirit.
Here at Summit Bible Center, we believe in the autonomy of the local New Testament church. The pastor will give an account to God for how he leads the congregation as he seeks to follow Christ, just as each church member will give an account for how they chose to live their life. We do not decline the leadership of other denominations because we believe that they are 100% wrong about everything, but because we believe they could be more right, if they would just get back to following God’s Words over man’s and religion’s traditions.
At Summit Bible Center, we are a non-denominational church that invites members of the Sarasota, Florida community to join us in building His kingdom. We encourage members to find comfort, grow spiritually together, and take the gospel to the world.
By focusing on what God says in the Bible and learning to apply those doctrines to your own life, you can find peace in Him and contribute to the betterment of your community and the world. We love for members to serve with us and experience true change by coming to know Jesus Christ.
